The role of Community Manager
With 2 commentsAs discussed at the meeting in Copenhagen, one of the activities that may be important for cluster development is the role of the Community Manger.
What can be the winning strategies in order to effectively retain the associates?
The role of the Community manager of a cluster is to keep constant relations with associated companies. He/she should send them news, information, invite them to cluster events and mostly visit them on a regular basis (at least once a year is a proper frequency). The question is if the cost is worth the effort. Many local governments do not invest the money in this type of professional, as they repute a better investment to use the budget directly to finance the industries. It would be interesting to understand the experience of gold clusters where this profile is already in place.
Important roles of the Community manager of the Cluster are:
-listen needs and requirements of associated companies and try to indicate third parties that can satisfy them;
-propose new issues and topics to facilitate innovation and new developments among associated companies.
